Important Questions Answers About Australia Streamlined Visa Processing
Streamlined Visa Processing is new visa processing system introduced by Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) in result of Knight Review. Under this policy, Australia promotes university sector and ensures that student having Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) of an eligible program at an eligible university will be assessed as low migration risk. What is Streamlined Visa Processing?
Streamlined Visa processing is special visa processing system for students who are enrolled in specific Australian universities. Visa applications of all these students will assess and taken as low migration risk. They will be treated as currently assessment level one applicants are assessed.
What are these changes for? Is it for all Australia student visa subclasses?
This is not for all student visa applicants. This policy is only for students of direct entry into bachelor and master programs in subclass 573 (Higher Education). Higher education diplomas and post graduate certificates are not included in streamlined eligible courses. However students of foreign campuses of Australia universities will be considered for Streamlined Visa Processing as 2+2 and 3+1 arrangements.
Are all Australian institutes participating in Streamlined Visa Processing?
Currently only selective universities are participating in this program. University sector is smaller in Australia. Only 41 universities out of 42 are participating. You may find a list of Streamlined Visa Processing eligible universities and their affiliated institutes here.
I have offer letter for diploma in TAFE College. Am I eligible to apply under this policy?
Colleges are not participating in Streamlined Visa processing. Only university students having Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) for an eligible program can apply under this policy.
I have offer letter in streamlined participating university but my Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) is not issued yet. Can I apply with my offer letter?
Under Streamlined Visa Processing, student can only apply if he/she has valid Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). Offer letter is not acceptable for to apply under Streamlined Visa Processing. However students applying under other visa subclasses can still send their visa application with offer letter and provide Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) letter when visa officer asks for it.
