Changes in Federal Skilled Immigration (FSW) Canada
(GBM7HVERP9HJ) On 1st of July 2011, Canada has lowered cap to 10000 applications for following year, which means only 10000 applications will be accepted for all 29 occupations which are eligible to apply for Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) category. Further more, individual cap of 500 applications is also set to each occupation in the list. Application cap was first introduced on 26 June 2010, when limit of 20000 applications was imposed for this visa category. At that time individual cap was 1000 while this year only half of the applications would be accepted as compared to previous year.
For better & quicker settlement of new immigrants, Canada prefer to apply with a job offer. Any applicant who has a valid job offer from a Canadian employer will get Canadian immigration without any hassle. Application cap/limit is not applicable to applicants having job offer.
According to Immigration Minister, John Kenney, limit will help Canadian Government to speed up the immigration process as due to heavy load of applications from all over the world, applicants have to wait for years to get decision on their applications. From last two years, Canada has taken several big decisions regarding immigration system.
